INDOOR BOWLS

Inter sub-association competition got under way last week. Rodney scored a decisive won over Bay of Islands at Tomorata, by winning 75 games to Bay's 69. Best scorers for the Bay were Corey Armstrong 8, Trudi Watson and Julia Penney 7, Noel Bethel 6 and newcomer Graham Griffith, who scored a respectable 6. Far North scored a comprehensive win over Whangarei, winning 82 games to 62.

The next round is being played this Sunday, July 8, with Bay playing Whangarei and Far North playing Rodney.
