Cobham Oval was finally able to get a bit of action as the weather gods smiled upon the teams to give the Northern Knights and Otago Volts a chance at some points in their Plunket Shield match.
After being sent in to bat, Otago declared in the first session yesterdayat 93 for six to give the shortened match a bit of life.
Northern Districts did well in response with Northland lad Brad Wilson bringing up his 50 during the middle session of the day.
Former Black Cap Jesse Ryder (pictured) was dismissed without causing too much pain for ND, and with the ball he was frustrated by Wilson and fellow former Black Cap Daniel Flynn.
Ryder may be in trouble for his actions during the middle session of the day as he slapped a bail off the stumps in his return to bowl, an action which is citable.
Today is the final day of the match at Cobham Oval. With the weather set to be changeable it should be interesting to see how this match plays out, with both teams hoping for a result.
The game is free to get into in what will hopefully be an all-day affair, with play starting at around 10am and going until about 6pm.
Northland Cricket general manager Warren Marr invited Northlanders to go along to enjoy some high-level cricket.
