The defending champions from last year's Sport Northland Run/Walk Series look set to continue their dominance this weekend at the Newman Engineering Baylys 2 Dargaville Run/Walk event.
Whangarei's Harry Linford and Carolyn Younger are the two clear leaders in this year's Sport Northland Run/Walk Series having won every event thisyear in their respective categories.
Linford and Younger, who were the winners of last year's series, will already be hard to beat in the 2013 series after only three of the seven events.
On Sunday, walkers and runners will have the option of the 12km route from Baylys Beach starting at 9.30am, or the 6.8km route which will start at Rick's Paint Shop on Baylys Coast Road at 9am.
Free buses will leave from Logan Street beside Memorial Park to deliver participants to their start lines from 8am.
More FM will once again host the post event prizegiving at Memorial Park at noon.
Entries can be made at www.runwalkseries.co.nz or pick up an entry form from Sport Northland offices, with entries closing tomorrow.
The next events in the series will be the Juken NZ Kaitaia Run/Walk on August 4, the ActiveSmart Whangarei Half Marathon and 9km Run/Walk on September 22, and the final event in the 2013 series will be the Fullers GreatSights Kerikeri Half Marathon on November 16.
