The centre opening was held at the Hikurangi greens last Sunday. With about 60 bowlers in attendance, the weather didn't come to the party and the speeches were held indoors and everyone moved outside for the delivery of the first jack and bowl of the season by the centre patron and patroness, Len Lawrence and Audrey Fry.
The 1-5 Year representative players who were in attendance were presented with their pins. Maureen Parker and Jacqui Howarth were presented with New Zealand certificates for passing the level two technical officer examinations.
