New Zealand's two top squash players will be handing out tips to young Northlanders before they battle it out on court in what will be a highly competitive exhibition game.
Martin Knight and Campbell Grayson, who play on the local and the international circuit, will be on court with thejuniors at the Whangarei squash club, Tarewa Road, next Wednesday.
Squash Northland Administrator Sharon Crawford said it was a real opportunity for squash players and enthusiasts to watch the game at such an elite level.
"To have these two players in Northland is great for the promotion of squash and an opportunity that many squash players in Northland would never get normally."
Already interest among the junior players was building.
"When the poster was first seen at the Mangakahia junior tournament the juniors were abuzz with excitement about having such high calibre players come to Northland to play an exhibition match and the opportunity to get on the court with them is a bonus," Mrs Crawford said.
"No doubt they will talk about for a long time to come."
The duo will then take on senior players, who will be trying to score a point or two at 5.30pm
