The Northland boys under-11 development squad has attracted attention for the way they have been playing against some much stronger opposition recently.
Their first game together was a respectable 1-3 loss against North Harbour but since then they have travelled to Tauranga where they drew nil-all with Bay of Plenty and lost 1-2 against Tauranga.
According to their coach Johnny Campbell and co-coach Stu Bell they have had to step up their level of hockey and the pair are very pleased with progress. The boys travel away next to Thames Valley on Sunday to play against Thames Valley and Auckland.
Their final game of the season is on September 9, where they get to measure their progress over the short representative season when they again play North Harbour.
The team is: Anthony Carter-Bell, Dylan Codlin, Lachlan Sneddon, Luther Cronin, Anthony Imms, Caleb Andrell, Jessie Embling, Patrick Winton, Hadley Greenhalgh, Conner Cooper, James Agnew, Sean Wilkinson, Jackson Yovich, Ben Croucher, Marshall Harman. Coach: Johnny Cambell. Manager: Michele Codlin.
