Tikipunga High School were the winners of the Junior Development Day held in conjuction with Northland Indoor Bowls and Sport Northland. Whangarei Indoor Bowls Association holds a junior day for the area's Year 7 & 8 pupils every year and this year the event was held at Badminton Hall in Whangarei. Nineteams from five schools competed on the day but it was Tikipunga that took home the silverware. Results were: Tikipunga High School 1, Liam Bradley-Woodman, Penekaha Takimoana, Preston Harema, 6 game points, 20 ends, 33 points, first. Kamo Intermediate 2 Dayne Williams, Ben Turner, Waihiki Pepene, 6, 18, 36 2nd. Tikipunga High School 3 Jayden Tunstall, Clayton Wihongi, Caleb Vaughan 6,17,29 3rd. Kamo 1 5, 16, 36; Parua Bay 1 4, 16, 25 4th. Tikipunga 2 4, 16, 22 5th. Kamo 4 4, 14, 25 6th. Pompallier 2, 15, 25 7th. Parua Bay 2 2, 12, 16 8th. Kamo 3 1, 14, 21 9th.
