Northland's Hell's Wives roller derby team pulled off another win in their latest hometown clash, this time taking down Wellington.
Spectators at ASB Stadium in Kensington saw the Northland team end their season on a roll with a convincing win over Wellington's Richter City Convicts.
Northland and Wellington's strategies sawthem both wanting the front of the pack which made for a very fast-paced game.
Northland's first pack sent Wellington's jammer to the bin by forcing a cut which put points on the board straight away.
Holding the lead through the first half, the Hell's Wives were only 40 points ahead at halftime which meant both teams came out firing after the break.
The second half pushed both teams' fitness levels to the max, but Northland's endurance training paid off and their jammers played a relentless role in scoring points, jam after jam.
Northland's blockers then held their pace and successfully played both offensive and defensive strategies to stay on top.
Ending the year on a high, the Hell's Wives had a fantastic season with wins against Tauranga, Auckland, Hamilton to add to the bag, and a well deserved rest until February 2016 is now on the cards.
Their next home game won't be until March 26, 2016.
