A FANTASTIC effort by the Kerikeri High School Golf Team of Thomas Corbett, Sam Healy, Alex Neely and Sam Van Vliet won them the Northland Secondary Schools Golf Tournament.
The tournament, played in hot, dry conditions at the Northland Golf Club last weekend, is the qualifier for the National Secondary Schools
Championship in September.
The three best gross scores of the four count, and Kerikeri's counting scores were 74 (Healy), 75 (Corbett) and 76 (Neely) a total of 225, eight shots ahead of runners-up Otamatea College, which won the title last year.
Special thanks must go to the Northland Eagles Golfing Society for its continued support of this event.
The Kerikeri team will now be preparing and fundraising to attend the national final in Wellington, which starts on September 3.
The team will also gain automatic entry into the NZ U19 Championship to be played after the national final at the Wainuiomata Golf Club.
