Whangarei Boys' High School's Dave Armitt produced a superb all-round game to see his team overcome a spirited Kamo side.

Armitt was the chief destroyer of the Kamo top order with his 4 for 25 off 10 overs, in-form Kamo opener Ryan Smith was one of the few to put up a fight to Armitt's spin, top scoring with 87.

Armitt combined well with Ben Smith who cleaned up the tail and finished with an accomplished 5 for 32 as Kamo were rolled for a mediocre 151 on Saturday.

In response, Armitt opened the batting and got Boys' High off to a flyer as he played some unconventional shots in reaching 32 off 24 balls before being dismissed by Ben Hyde.

Hyde also claimed the scalp of Armitt's fellow opener, Sean Daniels, for no score and Sam Clotworthy for 10.

Kamo chipped out wickets during the innings and Sam Walker put the screws on with his 10 overs, conceding just 13 runs.

But, Boys' High always seemed in control. Ben Smith capped off a solid performance as he saw his side home unbeaten on 39.

In Maungakaramea's match, Neal Parlane left his mark on club cricket with a polished 111 before the summer break as his team went on to post 278 for 6 against City.

City had no answer for Parlane as he pressured their bowlers, with the bowling unit giving away 50 extras between them. Joseph O'Sullivan (34) and Bert Horner (30) also chipped in for Maungakaramea before their bowlers annihilated City for 55.

Cody Andrews, who has been in fantastic form for Northland, took 5 for 29 and Kurtley Watson chipped in with 3 for 11 as none of the City batsmen were able to combat their pace and accuracy.

Even though Onerahi Central ended up 50 runs short of what they had hoped for, as they posted 182, they managed to come back strongly in the field and restrict Kaipara Flats to 164.

On a good wicket, Henry Cooper again anchored Onerahi's innings but unfortunately he fell 16 runs short of his third century in as many weeks. Matt Taylor was Kaipara Flats' main strike weapon as he took a well-deserved 5 for 32.

In reply, Taylor was again in fine form and he scored a quick 47 but he lacked support from other Kaipara Flats batsmen, eventually falling 18 runs short. Tom Herman bowled well for Onerahi, picking up 3 wickets.

Kamo 151 (Ryan Smith 87, Ben Hyde 10; Ben Smith 5 for 32, David Armitt 4 for 25) lost to Boys' High 155 for 6 (Ben Smith 39 not out, David Armitt 32; Ben Hyde 3 for 31).
