The 1-5 Year club bowlers took the stage last Monday when the Centre Junior Interclub competition was concluded at the Kamo greens. It was great to see the excitement on the faces of these newer bowlers and the fun and camaraderie that was prevalent was fantastic.

This was a close competition with only three points difference between first and fourth placings.

It is congratulations to the One Tree Point combination who took out the title for 2013 with 17 win points and +60 shots differential and will represent the Centre in the regional finals to be held in May.

This weekend, clubs will host the Centre Open Singles competition for men and women. The entries are a list of the "who's who" of bowls in this area.

The draw and venues are as follows:

Umpires corner: Clubs are reminded that they cannot amend the laws of the game when playing club championships and open tournaments.

One bowl each to find a winner when scores are tied and the placing of the jack in any position when not delivered correctly are two such things that have been seen on the greens of late.

These actions are not acceptable.
