After her Carters Paihia Run/Walk success, all eyes will be on Anna Fischer to see if she can repeat her fine performance in Mangawhai.
Fischer will line up in the Carters Mangawhai Heads 2 Hub Run/Walk on July 1.
Fischer, an Aucklander living in Northland, has a history of winsin major events such as the Wellington Half Marathon.
Whangarei runner Carolyn Younger, who is on the top of the Sport Northland Run/Walk Series Leaderboard, is also sure to put in another top performance. In the men's section, Pompallier College student Harry Linford will be trying to continue his great run of form after winning the first three events in the 2012 Sport Northland Run/Walk Series. He has a clear lead in the men's section.
The Carters Mangawhai Heads 2 Hub is expected to have about 500 participants line up at the start line at Mangawhai's Ocean Beach for the 8.5km run, walk or pram stroll to the finish line at The Hub on Molesworth Drive.
A great array of prizes, from Sport Northland sponsors, are once again up for grabs for the competitors with a Telecom mobile phone and iPod from Gen-i, Fullers Great Sights vouchers, ASB and Asics merchandise plus the major prize, a bike from AvantiPlus Whangarei.
All Northland adults who compete will go into the draw to win a Suzuki Splash car sponsored by Pacific Motor Group, which will be drawn on November 17.
