"We'll have a really good look at the footage and just check whether there's some issues technically that we can fix and then we'll move on from there," he said.
New Zealand, who had crushed Japan 67-0 in their opening game, crossed for five tries against the Welsh through Billy Proctor, Sullivan, captain Tom Christie, Tevita Mafileo and Xavier Roe.
Philpott was impressed with how his side handled the nine changes to their lineup, saying some strong performances will give the selectors some tough decisions to make as the tournament progresses.
What impressed Philpott more than anything was the defensive effort, particularly from a forward pack that showed no issue with dominating a physical Welsh unit.
However with Australia the next team on the schedule, Philpott said the defending champions were not entertaining any thoughts of complacency.
"To only concede 10 points against a good Welsh side is pleasing as well," he said.
"Our job's not done yet. We want to make sure we finish top of our pool with an opportunity to play in a semifinal the following week.
"It's all or nothing for Australia. They get a win then they can go through so we've got to make sure we perform really well again."
He expects Caleb Clarke, who missed the Wales encounter with a virus, to be
available for selection.
Australia, who beat Japan on Monday (NZ time), need to beat New Zealand to advance after losing to Wales in their opening match of the tournament.
Philpott expects a desperate Australia to provide a stern test.
