Northlanders raised a record amount last Daffodil Day with the public raising $126,000.

Northlanders raised a record amount last Daffodil Day with a total of $126,000.
With a range of events planned across the region tomorrow, The Cancer Society is hoping for an even larger amount this year.

Here's a list of fundraising events organised across Northland for Daffodil Day tomorrow and Saturday:

Dargaville: Sausage sizzle, raffles and more at Dargaville ANZ.
Ngunguru: Morning tea, cake and produce stall, raffle at the Ngunguru Sports Complex 9.30am-12.00pm
Whangārei: Cameron St Mall festival - performers and dancers 11.30am-3pm
Ruakākā: Street appeal outside medical centre. Ruakākā Race Day on September 1.
Waipū: Street appeal outside Four Square.
Mangawhai: Street appeal
Te Kao: Street appeal
Coopers Beach: Breakfast and raffles, street appeal
Kaeo: Cake stalls and raffles
Kaitaia: Street appeal
Rawene: Make your ferry crossing meaningful on Daffodil Day
Kaikohe: Northland College Daffodil Day breakfast 6.30am-9am
Ohaeawai: Street appeal and walk through town
Kawakawa: Street appeal
Russell: Street appeal and raffle
Paihia: Breakfast 7.30am at Kingsgate Hotel Auto Lodge, street appeal
Opua: Street appeal
Kerikeri: street appeal

SATURDAY:
Harcourts Daffodil Raceday at Ruakākā. The event is a fundraiser for the Cancer Society and the first smokefree event at the course.
It will be attended by Gold Medal Winning Black Stick Anita McLaren, who will spend time in a high tea for more than 100 Northland cancer society volunteers. Gates open at 11am.
