The Warehouse has shut the pharmacy at its Whangarei store, with four staff believed to be losing their jobs.
General manager marketing for The Warehouse, Jen Ryan, said the company closed the pharmacies at its Whangarei, Te Rapa, Sylvia Park and Nelson stores on Monday. "As we signalled last year,we have proceeded with our decision to exit our pharmacy business. This move is in line with our business strategy," Ms Ryan said.
"As a result, January 31 was the last day of trading for our pharmacy in Whangarei, along with Te Rapa, Sylvia Park and Nelson.
"We have worked with [Whangarei] customers, the Northland District Health Board and local pharmacies to help customers move to a new pharmacy."
