Do you know a young Northlander pursuing a dream for themselves and or their community? Does this young person demonstrate the skills and capability of leadership?

If so, the Northland Leadership Week steering committee wants to hear from you.

During Leadership Week on June 22-29, a select group of young Northlanders will have the opportunity to attend a series of events and workshops themed Dare to Dream and meet with community leaders.

The Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Week is an annual event for all ages that highlights the value great leadership provides for New Zealand.

As Sir Peter Blake showed, there are leaders and there are dreamers. Leaders make things happen. Dreamers have a vision.

This year, the Northland Leadership Week steering committee wants to celebrate the young people in our community who demonstrate Northland community pride and show leadership potential. The committee is looking for nominations of all young dreamers and future leaders of Northland.

Nominees must be aged between 17 and 25 and demonstrate their potential as an emerging leader through their commitment to Northland, integrity, determination and will to succeed, and their ability to be a role model and inspiration to others.

If you know a young person who fits the bill, see if they would like to be involved.

Successful nominees will be invited to attend a range of workshops to gain confidence in public speaking and meet community representatives and leaders.

More can be found out about Leadership Week events by visiting the events page on www.sirpeterblaketrust.org. A nomination form is available on Enterprise Northland's website www.enterprisenorthland.co.nz.

Northland Leadership Week nominations close on June 8.
