HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? Robert Austin.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? Robert Austin.

Police are looking for a 37-year-old man who is wanted in connection with an assault on two fishermen in Auckland.

Robert Austin, who lives mostly in Whangarei and north Rodney district, was one of two men who allegedly assaulted two fishermen of Korean descent at Ti Point in Leigh on April 1.

One fisherman was allegedly threatened with an axe before he was punched in the head and face and lost consciousness.

The second fisherman was also allegedly punched in the head and face and fell into a bush.

The alleged offenders left in a five-door, dark-coloured people mover, possibly a station wagon.

Detective Jackson Shewry of Rodney police said Austin was believed to have travelled to Whangarei recently.

He is caucasian, about 175cm tall, of solid built, and has a necklace tattoo and a half-shark tattoo on one side of his neck.

Austin is considered dangerous and Mr Shewry said members of the public should not approach him.
