If bedroom heat pumps, a fully-equipped modern kitchen and a great indoor-outdoor flow sound like your kind of creature comforts, look no further than Northland's priciest rental.

The $650-a-week "stunning apartment" in Paihia's Marsden Rd, currently listed on Trade Me as Northland's priciest rental, is "situated directly opposite the white sands of Ti Bay".

Described as "perfect for the whole family to enjoy" it is fully furnished and features three bedrooms and an outdoor yard.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, Northland's cheapest current rental listing in Whangarei's Mill Rd, in Mairtown, is advertised for a mere $140 a week.

The one-bedroom, small semi-detached unit is suitable for one tenant.

Property manager Dennis Dickson, of Maggie Dickson Real Estate, said he had received "heaps" of inquiries on the property.

"It's the price ... we get all sorts of people wanting it, heaps of them. But we're really particular," Mr Dickson said.

"It's very small, hence the price - great area.

"It's older, but tidy. Because of its size it really only suits a single person."

Earlier this month the Northern Advocate revealed Trade Me property figures that showed the average asking rent in Northland in the three months to December sat unchanged from the same period in 2012, at $293 a week.

The average rent nationwide was $422, up 6 per cent from 2012.

Meanwhile, the country's cheapest Trade Me rental is a one-bedroom property in Woodville for just $65 a week. The semi-detached unit features a carport, lawn and shared laundry facilities.

Unsurprisingly, the nation's most expensive rental is a sprawling four-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Auckland's Takapuna, listed for $6875 a week.

It features three reception areas, wine cellar and bar, park-like grounds, a swimming pool and barbecue/outdoor dining area looking north over Takapuna Beach and out to Rangitoto through Pohutakawa trees.
