Two people dead after single-vehicle crashes in Northland and Waikato this evening

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash on Massey Rd, Reporoa this evening.

Police report no one else was injured. They are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The incident was reported to police shortly after 8.30pm and the serious crash unit is assisting with a scene examination.

Meanwhile, one person has died and another is critically injured after a serious crash on Whangārei Heads Rd. The single-vehicle crash was reported to police at 6.46pm.

A Fire and Emergency spokesman said firefighters arrived about 6.55pm and began working to free a person.

The road remains closed as the serious crash unit investigates. Diversions are in place over Mt Tiger.
