Truck and trailer blocks Northland road

UPDATE 12.05pm: A crane has removed a truck and trailer unit form the road.

Traffic control is in place until a sweeper clears the site of debris.

The driver, who climbed from the cab via a smashed windscreen, was shaken but unhurt.

9am:

A logging truck and trailer has rolled on Mangakahia Rd this morning blocking the road.

Police say the driver was out of the vehicle and had been checked by St John ambulance officers on the roadside.

The crash, near Awaraua about 20km south of Kaikohe, happened about 8.30am today and police expect the road to remain blocked until at least 11.30am.
