Some days out on the course, golf is the winner.

But the 9th annual Cystic Fibrosis LJ Hooker golf tournament has left Cystic Fibrosis Northland the winner to the tune of just under $11,000.

The money raised from the annual Ambrose tournament at Sherwood Park golf course goes to Cystic Fibrosis Northland, which provides financial and emotional support for Northlanders living with the condition.

CFN chairman Michael Webb said there had been huge support this year from local businesses, as well as several from outside the region, and group of volunteers had also made the day possible.

"We had a near capacity field of 21 teams and raised just under $11,000, the weather played its part and the course was in great nick."

Although a charity event, the winning team was The Judge House of Ale.
