Northland jouster "Lady Victoria" Subritzky (left) gives Aussie "Sir" Justin Holland a taste of her lance during the Abbey Museum International Medieval Tournament in Queensland.

Vikki Subritzky, from Pataua North, competed in the tournament, held on July 12 and 13. It was the grand finale of a series of events raising funds for the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology at Caboolture in Queensland.

"I chased the leaders throughout the competition, but didn't quite make it. Maybe next year," she said.

Ms Subritzky is a member of the Guild of the Hawk Jousters who will be at the fourth annual Kiwi North Medieval Madness Day at the Kiwi North museum in late January next year.

"John King, also from Guild of the Hawk, and I will be jousting and we're hoping there will be enough funding to get a couple of Auckland-based jousters to come up," she said.

Kiwi North manager Abbie Fry-Kewene said Medieval Madness was the most popular of the family events the museum put on over summer.
