New Zealand has had a bumper superyacht season, but there is still room for more visits from the big luxury vessels, an industry expert says.
Customs Minister Nicky Wagner said 57 superyachts visited between April 2014 and March 2015, up from 37 visits the season before.
"Each visit contributes significantlyto our economy through tourism, hospitality, berthage and marine services."
New Zealand Marine Industry Association executive director Peter Busfield said there was "huge potential to increase market share for these yachts to come to New Zealand".
