Freddie Jameson has taken out the Under 11 Boys title at the NZ Junior Age Groups held at Hamilton Squash Club.

The number one seed was far too strong for his opponent Charlie Prince in the final, playing some great length and winning in a comfortable three sets.

Third seed Tyler Ranger progressed through to the finals of the Boys Under 19, where he played top ranked Scott Galloway in the final.

Gregory made Ranger work hard with some great shot selections, eventually winning in three sets.

Other Northlanders to place in the top five of their divisions were Zoe Dykzeul, Finn Trimble (both third), Montana Vette-Blomquist, MacKenzie Johnson (both fourth) and Riley-Jack Vette-Blomquist (fifth).

Ultimately, it was Wellington who prevailed by a margin of 114 to 112 points.

In the Girls Northland, the third seed, took 2nd in their pool to set up a third and fourth matchup between them and Eastern.

It was a close battle between the Northland and Eastern teams with some tense matches but it was Eastern who prevailed to take out third spot, leaving Northland fourth.

Meanwhile, Northlander Shelley Kitchen has taken out the 2016 Masters Championship title for the second year running at the NZ Masters Nationals being held in Dunedin.

The former world top-10 player used her athleticism and racket skills to dominate Joanna Shanks in the women's 35 grade yesterday.

Shanks never stopped trying and hit some classy winners during the second set but Kitchen showed the benefits of being a relatively recent touring professional to prevail 15-5, 15-8, 15-5.
