Whangarei's Shanton outlet is one of 37 of the chain stores nationwide that have been placed into voluntary administration.
Shanton Fashion bosses decided to put the company into voluntary administration as it had its credit facilities withdrawn and a demand has been made for immediate payment of an overdrawn balance.
According to insolvency expert and administrator Bryan Williams, all gift vouchers and layby purchases for Shanton Fashion would have to be dealt with through his office.
It would be business as usual and all four staff at the Cameron St store would continue to be paid.
