Sevens: Northland squad for Waikato tournament named

Northland Sevens coach Peter Nock has named a 15-man squad to travel to Cambridge for the Waikato Sevens tournament.

The squad has been rotated as Northland gear up for the regional qualifying tournament, where they must place well in order to make the cut for the national tournament.

Nock said the squad is really looking forward to what lies ahead.

"The boys are getting excited as the regional qualifying tournament is getting closer," he said.

"A different group of boys has been selected this weekend to give everyone an opportunity."

"There are also a few players with injuries that we are keeping on top of leading into the regionals."

The team leaves todayto prepare for the tough two-day tournament.

Depending on results, Northland could play up to five games each day.
