The party at Tony Brown's might not have eventuated yet, nor the bender at Ben Smith's, but the Highlanders' Super Rugby winning celebrations have by no means come to a halt, according to Northland and Highlanders loose forward Dan Pryor.

"I actually don't know, I didn't make it there but possibly - if it was ever going to happen it would be now," Pryor said of the mythical party at Tony Brown's.

"There's been plenty of ideas thrown out there in the last couple of days, the parade was yesterday [Monday] but obviously the boys are still drinking here and there. The party will go on down here for a while because it's re-orientation week down here as well."

Caught in a blur of celebrations following their maiden Super Rugby competition win, Pryor said the response from fans had been frenetic.

"Man it has been hectic, it's crazy down here, especially in the parade yesterday - the streets were just crowded with people. It's been a hell of a ride, that's for sure."

With the ITM Cup season gearing up, and the Taniwha set to play for the Ranfurly Shield in their first match against Hawke's Bay, Pryor will bring the experience of being part of a competition-winning side to the Northland camp.

However, he'll be contributing most of his team effort off the field rather than on it after being forced out of playing for a while after suffering a dislocated arm during the Highlanders' last round-robin match against the Chiefs.

While it was a blow to his Super Rugby finals aspirations, Pryor is confident his arm will recover in time for some action during Northland's ITM Cup campaign.

"It's pretty hazy at the moment. When they first saw it they were telling me four months but [when] they saw it again they said it's going to be less than that.

"It's all good, it's out of the cast now, in a brace, and I can nearly get it fully extended."
