Northern Swords' two teams put in a pair of spirited efforts against Auckland sides but only one came up trumps at Hora Hora Rugby Club.
The men's side found themselves on the wrong side of a thumping but the newly formed women's team showed their potential with a resounding victory.
Northern Swords have attempted to revitalise the women's game in Northland and judging by the way they ended their season the future looks positive.
They dominated Auckland at every point of the game to clinch a 40-6 win.
The likes of props Anne Carter and Billie-Jean Ale proved incredibly tough to stop while wing Keani Shelfod made the most of her opportunities.
