Old Boys Marist made a return to the wins column while Kamo maintained their unbeaten start to 2018 in the latest week of Bayleys Northland Club Rugby action.

OBM were hosting Waipu on the back of a draw against Otamatea and were desperate to get the four points on offer.

Waipu showed a lot of fight throughout the first 60 minutes of the match and looked to be pushing the defending champions to the brink.

However the home side ramped up their efforts in the final quarter of the match to take the 38-21 win.

Robbie Rollo picked up two tries for the home side while first five Kepa Wiki controlled things well and added four conversions.

Meanwhile Kamo got through their biggest test of their 2018 campaign so far, seizing a nine-point win over Mid Northern. Mid Northern offered a definite step up in quality over Kamo's vanquished opponents from last week in Wellsford and found themselves ahead at the break 17-15.

However the class of Kamo shone through and they again proved they are the team to beat as they ran out 43-32 winners.

Meanwhile Hora Hora cracked the 50-point barrier at home against Wellsford, beating the visitors 52-26.

The bonus point win consolidates their spot in the top three as they move seven points clear (20 to 13) ahead of fourth placed Mid Northern.

Elsewhere Otamatea continued their run of good form with a tight 27-22 win over Western Sharks.

Western Sharks showed improvement once again but unforced errors at the wrong times again frustrated them.

The final Premier match saw Hikurangi pick up their second win of the season as they beat Kerikeri 36-32.
