The job of salvaging a logging truck and trailer and load of logs is taking longer than expected.
The rig that crashed off Otaika Valley Rd (SH15) has been lifted out of native bush using a crane, but it is the retrieval of the logs that is taking longer thanexpected.
The road was closed from 10am today and police at the scene now say the road won't open until 4pm today. They anticipated they would have completed the job by 3pm.
Sergeant Phil Halton said the logs had rolled further down than bank and getting them out was taking some time.
Cemetery Rd was still open which leads down to the lower section of Otaika Valley Rd.
