A new bingo is starting in Whangarei but it's a little saucy, so you might want to leave grandma at home.

If you thought legs 11 were a little racy, you've never played Risqué Bingo, which starts at McMorrissey's Irish Bar and Eatery next Thursday, with a little help from Whangarei's own raunchy pin-up queen.

Miss Glamour La Rue, Kamo's Hannah Gough, will set the R-rated balls rolling (oh, behave!) from 7.30pm and plans to get her flirty lips around some digits.

The titillating event is being organised by local DJ Ally O'Brien, who is also the manager at McMorrissey's, the first venue to host the movable fun feast.

"Northland doesn't have any comedy-based bingo shows. I thought it was time we had one," said Ms O'Brien.

She is better known in Whangarei as DJ Shady Lady, and plays in venues across the city. She knows a thing or two about the need for fresh weekday nightlife. With 70 numbers in the barrel, there were 70 ways to offend anyone with linguistic sensitivities, said Ms O'Brien.

If you're easily offended, it's best you stay at home and drink your Milo.
"It's not your average bingo and not for the faint-hearted."

Audience members can also make musical requests, which Shady Lady would be happy to play. Ms O'Brien hopes to take the naughty numbers on tour and said she was offering to bring the event to corporate and Christmas parties, or even other bars and social clubs in towns across Northland.

"Admission is free and what else would you be doing on a Thursday night? You could end up winning vouchers or bar tabs that businesses have kindly sponsored."

She said she was also eager to hear from more local companies looking to sponsor prizes.
