Power is out in parts of Northland.

Power is out in parts of Northland.

A power outage has struck parts of the Far North.

Power went out in parts of Kerikeri around 9.20am today.

The latest Top Energy update on the Inlet Rd, Kerikeri outage says power was restored just after 10.35am.

The cause was tree contact.

However, power is still out for 237 households in streets at the end of Inlet Rd, including Davis Strongman Pl, Edmonds Rd, Furness Rd, Hauparua Lane, Quinces Landing, and Wharau Rd, affecting 237 customers. Power is expected back on at 11.30am.

Top Energy customers in Mangōnui are also without power. The lines company outages app says the Mangōnui outage was reported at 7.40am, with 233 customers affected.

The latest update says the outage was caused by a vehicle impact on the Oruru feeder, affecting 60 customers.

Rain and wind have lashed parts of Northland including Kerikeri overnight and this morning. MetService says rain should ease this afternoon.

The outages come after several massive blackouts across the district in November, one of which affected 23,000 customers and sparked a Commerce Commission investigation.

Top Energy has been approached for comment.
