Independent Stevedoring Ltd (ISL) is a highly successful stevedoring company operating in ports within New Zealand. They are an industry leader known for providing excellent service, innovative solutions and an outstanding place to work.
Working closely with the other Operational Supervisors and The Operations Manager, the role
will assume Supervisory responsibility for teams of Stevedores loading and discharging vessels at Northport.
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
A very good understanding of workplace H&S standards
A proven record as a successful, practical, team manager and the ability to build strong, productive teams
Well-developed communication skills
Attention to detail and a common sense approach to problem solving
Very good computer skills, particularly Excel & Outlook
Strong personal values of honesty and integrity
Be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
Flexibility and adaptability to work the hours required, including weekends and shift work
The ability to get involved in the operation in a "hands-on" manner
