One person is dead following a crash at Aranga near Dargaville.
One person has died following a crash at Aranga, north of Dargaville.
The single vehicle crash occurred at about 5.30pm on State Highway 12. One person, believed to be male, died at the scene. Aranga is about 30 kilometres north of Dargaville.
Northern fire service communication shift manager Scott Osmondsaid the fire crews were called to the scene and found a person dead in the vehicle.
Crews were now helping police control traffic, Osmond said.
The death brings Northland's 2016 road toll to 27. Last year's regional toll was 22 for the entire year.
