Things will be sizzling outside Kia Ora Ngatiwai's rooms at Kamo tomorrow when staff and supporters do some fundraising during the New Zealand Child Cancer Foundation's One Day campaign.
The foundation is urging organisations and businesses to "give up a day" in July to help spread the word and raisesome much needed funds for its work supporting and enriching the lives of children cancer patients and their families.
Kia Ora Ngatiwai chose July 4 to hold a fundraising sausage sizzle for the cause, mobile nurse Maudie Paul said.
"There's quite a few of our tamariki (children) out there who are affected by cancer and we want to encourage our own people from our own community to help Child Cancer."
Ms Paul's son Hone Palmer was the "millennium" poster child for New Zealand Child Cancer.
