The Shutter Room has been home to some big-name photography exhibitions and, this week, NorthTec students got the opportunity to showcase their work in the gallery.
The five NorthTec photography students have been exhibiting their work as part of their Certificate in Photography.
Digital, film, black and white photography, portraits and landscapes all feature, with each student working on an area of their choice.
Kellie Extance, Sharney Smith, Mikki Tanenui, Hayley Tipene and Irina Zvonareva have completed the Certificate in Photography.
Ms Extance said she did the course to strengthen her skills for her business in real estate and portraiture photography.
She said it had given her the chance to delve in to different areas and genres.
"I've enjoyed doing film and using a dark room and doing it all the old way," she said.
She is passionate about photography for its ability to capture a moment.
"I love people and chatting with them and to me photography is just capturing a moment or the essence of someone. I try to get the true character of people."
Today is the last chance to see the photographs at The Shutter Room, Old Library, 10am-2pm.
