A shop in Whangarei sold two winning Division One Lotto tickets of $166,667 in Saturday's draw as Northland's amazing run of Lotto success continues.

Patels Foodmarket on Kamo Rd in Kensington sold the winning tickets - its second-biggest win after the shop sold a $250,000 Instant Kiwi scratchie in October.

"All sorts of people come and go because this is a very busy stretch of road so I can't say whether the winners are locals or out-of-towners," shop manager Priti Patel said.

"This is the biggest Lotto win this store has had which is good for the local community. I hope the winners are locals because the money stays in the local community.

"It's going to be a good Christmas for the winners."

The shop has been operating for 16 years and selling Lotto tickets for 11 years.
Lotto shops in the Bay of Plenty, Christchurch and Dunedin sold the other three winning Lotto tickets of $166,667 each.

The winning First Division Powerball ticket worth $10 million was sold in Auckland.

The Patels' lucky tickets on Saturday mean Northland has won more than $9.7 million in First and Second Division prizes since August.

Last month, a Whangarei punter won $5.5 million in Lotto Powerball First Division and the winning ticket was sold at Sunnyside Foodmarket on Station Rd in Kamo.

Another Lotto player won $500,000 First Division prizemoney after buying a ticket from Tony's Stationery and Lotto in Maungaturoto.

Last Wednesday, a ticket sold at Kamo Lotto was among 12 nationally that each won $12,328 in Second Division.

The winning Lotto numbers from Saturday were 14, 19, 24, 33, 35 and 36 with the bonus number 27 and Powerball 9.

Lotto NZ has donated the $2.7 million profit from Saturday's Lotto draw towards rebuilding Kaikoura and surrounding areas after last month's earthquake.
