Last week was Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week and as part of the event communities across the country spent Saturday cleaning up their communities for Clean Up Day.

A number of communities in Northland took part. A clean up and commemorative planting day was held at Fishbone Park in Ōtangarei.

The Northern Advocate supports the community clean up across the district and our photographer John Stone went along on Saturday to capture the efforts at Fishbone Park.
