Northland schools perform at Mangakahia Area School's Junior Cultural Festival

Schools from around Northland performed at the annual festival.

From the tiniest playcentre kapa haka performers, to senior school students with strong vocals and powerful haka - the Mangakahia Area School Junior Cultural Festival had it all.

Titoki Playcentre, Mangakahia Area School, Maunu Primary School, Pakotai School, Te Horo School, Te Kopuru School, Maungatapere School and Kokopu School all came together yesterdayto showcase their talents and support each other.

The 2018 Junior Cultural Festival, hosted by Mangakahia Area School, saw kapa haka and other cultural groups come together to showcase their talents and support each other yesterday.

The event opened with a powhiri at 9.30am and Mangakahia Area School were the first school to perform. They were followed by the smallest performers of the day - Titoki Playcentre, who brought the cute factor.

Others to perform included Maunu Primary School, Pakotai School, Te Horo School, Te Kopuru School, Maungatapere School and Kokopu School.
