Old Boys Marist versus Mid Northern, who competed in last year's Premier final, above, is the pick of the opening games as the rugby season kicks off tomorrow

Northland rugby fans rejoice, the season kicks off in style tomorrow, with defending Premier champs Old Boys Marist taking on Mid Northern in a rematch of the last two grand finals. One of the hot questions is can Renata Tenana match his four-try effort in last year's final?

Elsewhere in the prems Waipu face Hora Hora in the battle of the 2017 beaten semifinalists; Kerikeri make their Bayleys Premiership debut at Otamatea, who were on the cusp of relegation last year.

And can Kamo continue to improve under coach Cam Goodhue, the former Northland lock, brother of Josh and Jack.
