The Northland Quarry industry held its third annual awards night at the Kamo Club on August 12.

The region's quarry sector covers the area from Cape Reinga to Wellsford.

The Quarry Employee of the Year title went to Forest Parker, from Clements Contractors, with second place going to Michelle Powell, the Northland IOQ Secretary.

The Quarry Operator of the Year Award was presented to Johnny Dickson, from Dickson's Transport & Quarries, second John Shrimpton, Clements Contractors, third Wayne Baird, Red Bull power company.

The Good Bugger Award went to Phil McKenzie of Cable Price.

Supplier Award went to Graeme Platts of ACT Safety.

MC and entertainment on the night was provided by Luke Bird with comedian Simon McKinney injecting some humour into the proceedings.
