Vanessa Hodgson is excited about the Whangarei Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange.
The Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange at Whangārei Central Library on Sunday attracted 50 people, some of whom were queuing before the event. The fifth biannual exchange gave a chance to swap jigsaw puzzles already completed for something new and was set up by avid puzzlers Cathy Casey and Kees Lodder, inpartnership with Whangārei District Libraries. The next exchange is scheduled for mid-2026, with details in the Whangārei Library calendar.

Savour success
Savour Northland finished its second year with strong participation, high engagement and growing national attention. The annual celebration of Te Tai Tokerau’s food and beverage industry was held in October. This year, 24 venues put on more than 54 food events across the region, with more than 2400 Savour Northland Challenge dishes sold. A survey showed 97% of attendees plan to return to a Savour Northland event in future years, with over 80% saying they would consider planning a special trip.
