A person in Northland has won $8.3 million on Lotto's Powerball.

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player in Northland and is made up of $8 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

The big win follows a $12.5 million Powerball prize won by a Wairarapa couple in early March. The couple held onto their winning ticket for over a week before claiming their prize.

Two lucky players from Taranaki and Amberley will also be celebrating after each winning $333,333 with Lotto First Division in tonight's live Lotto draw. The winning Lotto tickets were sold at Countdown Amberley in Amberley and to a player on MyLotto in Taranaki.
