Northland firefighters battle major shed fire overnight at Ōakura

Fire and Emergency NZ were called to a large shed on fire at Oākura.

Crews have battled a shed fire in Northland this morning.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they received reports of a large shed on fire at Oākura about 1.20am.

“Three crews arrived on the scene to see a storage shed on a private property, which was 20m by 20m, fully ablaze.”

The spokesperson said the shed contained trucks and cars.

Four fire engines and two water tankers remain on the scene and have contained the fire.

Crews from Hikurangi, Whangārei, Kamo and Russell were called to the fire.
