Northland electorate Labour candidate Willow-Jean Prime.

Northland electorate Labour candidate Willow-Jean Prime.

By Willow-Jean Prime

I love Northland.

I grew up here, it's my home.

Northland gave me a great childhood, and I want to make sure that there is a thriving future in Northland for all our families, communities and businesses.

That's why I want to be an MP.

But there is a lot of work to do. We now have even more poverty, homelessness, unemployment and crime.

It doesn't have to be this way.

I believe not one more child should live in poverty. Not one more family without a home.

Not one more Northlander without a dream! I really believe we can do something about it. We can and we MUST do better.

I have the skills, passion and commitment to do the job.

I am currently a Far North District Councillor in my second term.

I have a strong background in law, advocacy and Maori and community development.

I understand our issues. I will ensure that Northland's voice and issues are heard and I will work with our communities on solutions that will work for Northland.

Labour can deliver for Northland because we care about people and have a record of tackling the big issues of housing, health, education and employment which is exactly what Northland needs.

In addition to Labour's core issues of housing, health and education my priorities for Northland are growth, vibrant communities and environmental responsibility.

More homes, better healthcare, free education, clean rivers, strong regions - let's do this!

Local, active and involved, my commitment is to continue working with the people of Northland to create an exciting and sustainable future for us all.

With your vote, I'll be a strong voice for you.
