Northland Umpires Association is holding the annual AC Triples at Onerahi Club on Thursday, April 19.

Twenty four teams from all over the centre took part in the Centre President's Day last week.

The tournament was generously sponsored by the Carter Holt Wood Products to whom we are very grateful.

Congratulations to the following teams who were successful.

The Centre Manager advises that nominations have been called for positions on the Centre Board, Operations Committee, selectors, managers, coaches of representative teams and the High Performance Panel.

If you are interested in any of these positions please contact the Centre office for further information.

The 10th anniversary of the Centre Awards dinner and prizegiving is to be held at the Kamo Club on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

This is being treated as a special night and clubs and members are asked to set this date aside to enable them to attend this occasion.

Tickets will be available from the Centre Office, so place your order now. $28 per head includes dinner.

The Northland Coaching Association also has its annual AC Fours tournament on Tuesday, May 1 at the Kamo Club greens. Entry $40 a team.

Each team requires a 1-8 bowler to be part of the team. Entries to Sue Wightman 09 431 4795 or Jacqui at the Centre Office or PO Box 368, Whangarei.

Friday, April 6 sees the secondary school annual pairs tournament being played at Kamo Bowling Club.

The event has attracted 18 teams. This event will give players the opportunity to follow up with a National Secondary Schools tournament to be run by Bowls NZ at Easter next year.

Play starts at 9.30am and will be completed by 2.30pm. Entry is via Sport Northland.

The Centre Champion of Champion events will start on Saturday, April 14, with the triples being played at Onerahi (men) and Kamo (women).

Sunday will see the Champion of Champion Singles being played at the Mangawhai greens. All events start at 8.45am.

Clubs, please remember to supply a competent marker with your singles player.

All events are run on a one life system. When the draw is completed players with first round byes will be notified. For clubs that have entered, please check the Centre website.

Sunday, April 8 – One Tree Pt MX sixes
Tuesday, April 10 – Kamo AC triples
Wednesday, April 11 – Maungaturoto AC triples
Thursday, April 12 – Onerahi AC triples
Saturday, April 14 – C of C triples
Sunday, April 15 – C of C singles.
