Weather conditions caused a late start to post-section in the Centre Mixed Pairs held last weekend.

Play finally got under way at 10.30am, which meant only three rounds were able to be played and the final match between Maree Attwood and Bryce Mackie (Composite) and John Dunn and Linda Swanson (Onerahi) will be played at a later date.

Fifteen teams qualified from a field of 46 entries.

Both semifinals were close affairs with Attwood/Mackie (Composite) defeating Paul and Sue Wightman (Mangawhai) on an extra end and Dunn/Swanson killing the last end to have a replay of the end and to eventually defeat Margaret Gurney and junior bowler Richie Naera (Kensington) 12-7.

Post-section results were:

The regional event for 1-5 and 1-8 year bowlers will be held on Saturday at Maungaturoto (1-8) and Hobsonville (1-5). Play starts at 9.30am.

Representatives from Northland, Auckland and North Harbour will compete in Men and Women divisions.

It is also congratulations to Maree Attwood who reached the last eight of the Auckland Premier singles. Lauren Mills also qualified for the last 16. Well done to you both.

Arapohue also wish to confirm that their Classic Fours tournament will be held this Sunday and not Saturday as in the centre's handbook. This is a two-men, two-women fours event.
