The Lotto balls fell nicely for the holder of a ticket sold in Kawakawa which won $333,333 in Lotto First Division in Saturday's draw.

First Division struck

A Northland hardware store sold a winning $333,333 Lotto First Division in Saturday's draw. The ticket was sold at Hammer Hardware in Kawakawa. The winning Lotto numbers were 4, 10, 14, 17, 21 and 23 with the bonus number 35 and Powerball number 1. The strike numbers were 14, 4, 21 and 17. Also, a MyLotto player from Northland was among nine winner throughout New Zealand who each won $29,406 in Lotto Second Division. Powerball was not struck and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $14 million.

Woman hit by car

A woman was rushed to the Whangārei Hospital in a serious condition after she was hit by a car. The accident happened on SH1 between Portland and Loop Rds, just south of Whangārei, about 6.55am yesterday. Diversions were in place for more than two hours while the police Serious Crash Unit investigated the accident.

Live pro wrestling is coming to Dargaville this week with a show at the Dargaville Town Hall on Saturday. The live pro wrestling entertainment evening will start at 5.45pm with a family pass $40 or adult $20. Tickets are available at Ray White Dargaville and the night has a Star Wars dress up theme.

Latch On Friday

The Big Latch On - an annual event to promote breastfeeding - is being held on August 3, when thousands of mums across the country will be breastfeeding to promote the theme Breastfeeding - The Foundation of Life. In Northland the event is on at Toll Stadium in Whangārei, Kaitaia Plunket Rooms, Kerikeri Plunket Rooms and Hauhora Hokianga in Rawene from 10am.
