A last-ditch effort from Cathrine Latu at the Silver Ferns trials has seen the Kawakawa local play all of her remaining cards in front of the New Zealand selectors.
And with the 12-strong side to face the Australian Diamonds in the Constellation Cup set to be named later this morning, now all she can do is wait.
"I'm giving it everything I've got left," Latu said.
"Like I keep telling everyone, I'm here for a reason and that's to fight back. While I do feel like I'm in a little bit of pain physically, I've just carried on because I've given up a lot just to be here and be in contention."
Still feeling the pain of her omission from the Silver Ferns' World Cup side earlier this year, Latu said she felt at peace with the decisions made from selectors to leave her at home.
Despite this, she said she still had some remorse over the decision which left her hurting on the ropes.
"I wouldn't say I'm upbeat about my chances, I think I'm just at peace with whatever happens," Latu said in anticipation of the team naming.
"I still kind of have days, even now. I haven't just tried to move on because I put a lot of time into being there for that World Cup. It has been and gone but I still have days where I wonder if it's worth the fight back."
Playing a tiring week of nationals netball in Wellington last week, Latu put the final touches on her trials preparation.
With the only people left to ask questions over her suitability for the Australian fixtures being the coaching panel, Latu is content she's done all she can this time around.
"I've put my body through some pretty painful sessions just to be physically ready for this.
"Whether my name comes up on that list or not, I know what I've done and I know how hard I've worked."
