Missing woman in Far North located

Hinepukohurangi Papuni, also known as Hine, is missing.

A woman who was reported missing in Kaitaia on Wednesday morning has been located.

Police were concerned for the welfare of 27-year-old Hinepukohurangi Papuni, also known as Hine.

She was last seen at about 12am in bed at her Pukepoto Rd, Kaitaia.

When checked again at 3am she was not there and subsequent searches by family nearby have failed to locate her. She was last wearing bright blue pajamas — a T shirt and short pants style — and no shoes.

The Northland police search and rescue squad was travelling to the area to begin searching in the afternoon.

However, it was subsequently announced the woman had been found the search operation was called off.
